Yes…the title pretty much says it all. The blue things will hit the big screen 3rd August 2011, and will feature all the original people can remember. Surprisingly this got huge insane buzz during a Sony presentation of upcoming movies, and honestly the graphics are looking pretty amazing.

the picture below animated smurfs Grouchy, Papa and Clumsy in front of the live-action backdrop of New York’s Time Square. In the film the blue 3D trio (gives the idea this will be in 3D) along with Smurfette, Brainy and newby Gutsy are accidentally transported from their village to New York where they find themselves on the run from evil magician Gargamel. But, Gargamel no longer wants to eat the smurfs.

Director Raja Gosnell told USA Today, “We all wondered whether we would be making a family version of Sweeney Todd.” Instead he plans to use them to harness his own magical powers.

Katy Perry, Alan Cumming and Hank Azaria are among those lending their voices to the caper set for release in 2011. Let us know your thoughts – excited to see this happening? Or…not?

About RamZ

You may know me from nowhere, and that's okay. Along with helping expand the interest in ' The Epic Network', the sister site of 'The Koalition', I am also a lyricist, a trainee in Capoeira, fan in both movies and music itself with a hint of gaming, snowboarder, Graphic Design student (in training or not, I'll let my work decide) and um...errm...hmm...guess you could say a somewhat decent dude. That again depends on so and so. If you have an urge to contact me regards to the site, or above interest, or anything other than to say I suck, feel free to via rameez@theepicnetwork.com

Personally I don’t find it great, the graphics/effects look pretty cool but it very much is a cliche kids movie.

I think its our generation, now that we’re old, and only just announced a movie of the smurfs is happening we’re so pissed off haha.

lol you right, its like super random…smurfs is like an old show. so for them to just be comin out with a movie is like, late. kids these days dont even know bout the smurfs
