This is strictly an opinion piece by me, Michael Childs the 2nd. I am not trying to pass this off as news or as fact. But I do think you should all take what I say into consideration here, because the only reason Playstation 3 is not the top seller is because people are hard headed fanboys, and for some ignorant reason they wish to see the console die.

If you ever wanted to get the best valued product this generation, then PS3 should automatically be the one to consider. I am not trying to discredit Nintendo’s Wii at all though, because next to the PS3 that is the best console this generation, simply for innovation. The Xbox 360 is a pile of crap and I am not afraid to say it. The Xbox 360 Is a last generation console, that only became next gen when they decided to put a hdmi input in it (which was ironically around the time the Playstation 3 came out). Ever since Sony entered this generation Microsoft have been scrambling for ideas to get their console as valuable as the Playstation 3. If Microsoft had a touch of creativity in their business they would be trying to create new IP’s instead of trying to steal all the valuable exclusives from Sony. Microsoft’s whole strategy is to 1up Sony and steal customers from them. Well Microsoft, what are you going to do once you have all of Sony’s fanbase? I’ll tell you what they are going to do, ruin the whole industry.

I have compiled a list of five reasons why Playstation 3 should be the top selling console this generation, agree with me or don’t. But at least give me a chance.

1. Innovation

Sony are an innovative company to the core. Once they have your attention they will aim to keep impressing you with fresh ideas. It may not seem like it now, but that is because Microsoft’s aggressive business has forced Sony into a position where they can not be themselves. Right now Sony have no other choice but to compete, which puts them in a position where they cant try as many new things. With that being said they still have been innovative, creating a lot of new IP’s and ideas.

2. Value

The value of The Playstation 3 can not be matched. You pay your $300, and you don’t have to buy any accessories unless you really want to. Casual gamers who buy PS3 most likely will not have any need for a headset or Ps Eye. On the xbox 360 you have to buy a wireless adapter and either batteries or a battery charger. The Playstation 3 controllers are already chargeable. Also you do not need to pay anything to play online, and you never will have to, even when they introduce their subscription model. You could argue the compatibility of PS2 games, but the PS2 itself is so cheap now that there’s no reason you cant get one if you really want to play your old games, but most of you have one already, so why complain about that?

3. Better Games

Don’t try and say “The PS3 has no games” because that is nothing but bull doogy. The PS3 has way more exclusives than the Xbox 360, and a bunch of them are new IP’s. New IP’s are better than old IP’s that are beginning to get old and tiresome. The WII also has a lot of exlusives, but my whole thing with the Wii is that although it is a great console, it just doesn’t offer the same valuable experience as PS3.

4. The better controller

The Wii has a motion controller, so I will not bring the Wii into this comparison. But as far as the Dualshock 3 vs the Xbox 360 controller, no matter what anybody might say the Playstation 3 controller is for real gamers. The 360 controller makes games way to easy (apart from Fighting games because it sucks for that). If you can master the Dualshock 3 then you are a master gamer, mastering this controller and dominating games with it means that you have been tested and overcame the challenge. It is a real gamers controller in every way. Did I mention that it is rechargeable out of the box?

5. PSN

Xbox Live is nothing more than a money machine, and I do not wish to be pimped by Microsoft. The only reason XBL is highly supported is because companies know they will see money on it. However if you want to see a mature online service, that you can watch grow into something amazing day by day, then get with PSN. The indie games on PSN are amazing and high quality, plus you have high quality full games to download. Not to mention the movie service, which kicks the shit out of any movie service that Microsoft have (yes I said it). The community of PSN is more mature and you hardly come across cursing children, why would you want to be cursed at by a 5 year old? Also too many people act tough on Xbox 360, who would get smacked in the mouth talking shit in real life. The PSN is just a whole different experience, and although it is new compared to Xbox Live, it will become the top service next generation mark my words.

A bonus reason

The blu-ray is a bonus reason. As time continues to go on, the 360 is reaching it’s limits with the DVD. While the Blu-ray format can increase in size anytime game start becoming bigger. The DVD is Microsoft’s biggest floor. They thought that online game purchases would become a standard this generation, but no, consumers are not ready for that yet. Sony know the game better than Microsoft do, Microsoft are only successful because of their aggressive business and their ability to brainwash consumers.

   If you say: “I like the PS3 more than the X360″ then you’re a PS3 fanboy. I believe that a fanboy is someone like PP. Someone that can’t understand that other people have different opinions than them so, they come and start with the insults because they have so much hate inside.

   Not everybody will like the same console and that’s a fact and you can’t do nothing about but the fanboys are too stupid, they will never understand. They think that their console of choice is the one and only.

   This POS article is nothing more than another cry baby Sony Droid who should just STFU and enjoy the games on the PS3 instead of taking a giant crap on another console. The fact he calls the Wii next-gen and the 360 is not just shows the level of ignorance we are dealing with here.

   I believe the author stated that this is an opinion piece. Good comments WWII. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Perhaps we could all respect each others while using rebuttals to argue what we believe instead of ignorantly spouting obscenities. Otherwise I might have to put my 360 on so the sound will drown out the sound.
