YelaWolf: No Hands X Hard White Up in the Club (Ft Lil Jon)

YelaWolf has been hitting the ground running since he was signed his deal with Ghet-O-Vision in 08 and now to Shady Records/Inter-scope last year. His debut Mixtape/Album release Truck Music, its re-release under the title Billy Crystal featuring the hits I just wanna Party ft Gucci Mane, Pop the Truck and Daddy’s Lambo. YelaWolf has done features with Rich boy, Big Krit, Tech N9ne, Gucci Man,Big Boi,Wiz Khalifa and more this year along with his Shady Records Debut LP RadioActive and here are the two singles No Hands and Hard White (Up in the Club) Ft Lil Jon.

NO HANDS

Yela teamed up with Ubisoft to release his 1st single No Hands to coincide with Release of Driver San Fransisco (check this post on Real Otaku Gamer for more on the video). The video Incorporated the elements of the new game’s car, locations and scenery all to the backdrop of this dope track.

Hard White

Yela has drop this second single with The King of Crunk Lil Jon for Hard White (Up in the club). The video takes YelaWolf from the wild house party antics of last year’s I just wanna party and puts Yela, and his crew in the middle of the club doing a mock southern signing party and other random crazy things. The video features, Alley Boy, Trouble and the Duck Tape Ent Family, STL FemMC Kitty Kat, Khia and even Lil Jon’s son where in the video, check it out bellow and look for Yelawolf’s Debut Ghet-o-vision/Shady Records/Inter-scope Debut Radioactive

The Best Of Lloyd Banks

So the Hunger For More 2 is out on Monday, and to remind you all of why Lloyd Banks is the PLK (punchline king) of rap I decided to write this article showcasing some of his best freestyles and songs. Lloyd Banks is one of those artists who have matured over time, the Banks of today is a little less charismatic as the old Banks, but he is still every bit as confident. The Lloyd Banks of today is also more diverse, a whole lot more willing to experiment with different sounds. So lets start of with some of Bank’s early mixtape freestyles and then move on to his more recent material.

Lloyd Banks Ft 50 cent – Victory Freestyle

This is one of Bank’s earliest freestyles, and it was definitely the one that made people realize that he was a problem. There is too many quotable in this one but here are two of my favorites. “This shit can get uglier than the master p sneaker” and “I know the watch bothering your vision, you reach and i’ll put a dot on your head like it’s part of your religion.” This freestyle alone automatically put Banks in my top 5 back then.

Lloyd Banks Ft 50 Cent – The Banks Workout

Another of Bank’s classic freestyles. When people heard this on the “50 Cent is the future” mixtape they we’re calling Banks the next big thing after 50 Cent himself. Like the Victory freestyle, the punchlines on this are crazy and there is just too many to quote. “I’m hungry like a South African with flies stuck to his face” still raises a smile after all these years.

G-unit – That’s What’s Up

Although this track features the whole G-unit click, I had to include it because Banks straight up bodied this with the punches and the flow. This was back when 50 Cent was making his comeback after getting shot, and the Guess Who’s Back mixtape remains one of the best mixtapes ever. Banks does not hesitate to rip this track, with lines like “Aladdin won’t be the only one on the carpet”, and “Pussies love Nelly, he made it look cool to wear band aids”.

Lloyd Banks – I’m So Fly

Now let’s focus on some Lloyd Banks post Shady Aftermath deal. I’m So Fly was featured on Lloyd Bank’s first album “Hunger for more”, and remains my favorite song from that album.

Lloyd Banks – Take A Picture Freestyle

This is a freestyle from the Gang Green mixtape in 2006 which was leading up to Lloyd Bank’s second album “Rotten Apple”. This is my favorite freestyle from that tape, simply because Banks goes in with the punchlines and flow.

Lloyd Banks – Cake

This track is from the Rotten Apple album, and is perhaps one of the best tracks on the album. The original song features 50 Cent on there too, but he couldn’t make the music video hence his missing verse. Regardless you can still listen as Banks lyrically destroys the beat.

Lloyd Banks – Another 50

Lloyd Banks straight up murders this beat with his ruthless lyrical content. Along the way he even manages to touch on a few personal matters, specifically his father passing away and his mother suffering two heart attacks. Take a listen.

Lloyd Banks – Flight School

This one is from is “04-30-09″ Mixtape which was part of his 5 and better series of mixtapes. 4-30-09 represents the rebirth of Lloyd Banks, since that was his actual birthday. This freestyle is one of the tracks that stands out the most from this specific mixtape.

Lloyd Banks Ft Juelz Santana – Beamer Benz or Bentley

And here goes the comeback song of the year. Beamer Benz or Bentley is the sole reason we have Hunger for more 2. Nobody expected Banks to drop a hit like this out of nowhere, and he did it while being independent. Not many can say they went gold from an independent single.

The Klashnekoff Appreciation

Darren Kandler, known by his stage name Klashnekoff (pronounced K-Lash-Nek-Off) or Ricochet Klashnekoff, is a Jamaican-British rapper from East London. Klashnekoff was born in Hornsey, but then moved to Hackney in London where he began his career in rapping. He was the founding member of the Terra Firma Crew.

His debut album, The Sagas Of…, includes the singles “Murda” produced by UK super-producer Harry Love (which was later released on the movie album ;;[Kidulthood), “Zero”, “All I Got” and “Black Rose’” and was released in 2004. His most recent album, Lionheart: Tussle with the Beast, was released on 26 February 2007. Klashnekoff has a new album scheduled for release later this year, which is to be called “Return to the Sagas”. He was nominated for the 2007 BET award for best U.K. Hip-Hop artist.

In the spotlight: Boy Betta Know

I’m a huge fan of music, so I decided to start a new blog series called In the spotlight. This is where I will post a could videos or audios of artists who have impressed me over the years.

I’m going to start with Skepta and Boy Betta Know; simply because I’m not even a huge grime fan, but Skepta and Boy Betta Know know how to create good sounding music. I am a huge Skepta fan, and was even able to do an interview with him which you can read here. As far as UK music, I have to respect the whole Boy Betta Know’s body of work as I feel they put out the best music.
