One of Epic Network’s favourite actors, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, has come a long way from playing as the character Tommy in the TV show “3rd Rock From The Sun”, as the actor is prepared to debut his writing and directing skills with an untitled project that will star himself plus Scarlett Johansson…

Reported via Deadline, the film is set to tell the story of a present-day Don Juan and his quest to become a better person. Likely to then be somewhat a romantic comedy (possibly, dark comedy), the story/legend of Don Juan originates in Spain as a fictional rogue plus libertine who took great pleasure in seducing women (virgins especially) and then fighting their men with enjoyment. If the story is to go as predicted, then JGL has good taste in choosing what woman he wants to hook up with.

Both JGL and Scarlett Johansson are set to feature in blockbuster superhero movies this year, with the former to appear as cop character Blake in “The Dark Knight Rises”, whilst the latter is to reprise her role as Black Widow in “The Avengers”.

It also seems JGL will be busy this year, as he is set to star in “Looper,” “Premiere Rush” and “Lincoln”. He was also linked with Quentin Tarantino’s project “Django Unchained”, but due to schedule constraints, this is now unlikely. Nonetheless Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a busy man now.

Let us know what you think of his directing debut and possible style of movie.

And so people are at it again, reboots, prequels and sequels all seem to find their way amongst topics that sometimes never really need anything added on to them. In this case, DC Comics have announced plans for “Watchmen” prequels, revealing an official cover art (shown below) of “Before Watchmen”, which is a new strand of spin-off comics designed to fill in the gaps of the original Watchmen story…

Reported via Wired as well as trending on Twitter, creator Len Wein spoke about the project, quoted to have said: “Essentially, we’re looking at old characters through new eyes. What we’re doing is filling in a lot of the blank spaces in a story that has already, to some degree, been told.”

“There were still a lot of gaps in the histories of Watchmen’s characters,” he continues, “and events only mentioned in passing or touched on briefly in the original story. We’re filling in those gaps in the most creative and inventive ways we can.”

The announcement of prequel comics is likely to be treated then as a “Watchmen” prequel movie, with DC already rebooting everything about themselves, this is an opportunity for them to expand on the popular franchise in the way they want to show it.

Whilst Len Wein will write the Ozymandias series (one of several character-specific mini-series to be released, image above), it is confirmed that original creator and comic-book legend Alan Moore will not be involved at all with the project. Moore turned down DC’s offer, confirming that that the series would have been offered back to him personally if he “would agree to some dopey prequels and sequels.”

Many fans of the artist and the “Watchmen” franchise itself will not be too fond of the news either, suggesting that the so-called “gaps” in the story are what help make it enjoyable. Nonetheless this has all lead to suggestions Alan Moore will not take this lightly against the DC executives.

“Before Watchmen” comics are set for a summer release, be sure to check back here around Christmas time for us to confirm in slight disappointment of a movie. Overall, let us know your thoughts.

Checkout the gallery below for all eight covers of the prequel mini-series (and please agree with me that Dr. Manhattans cover simply implies something very wrong):

Arguably one of the best superhero movie to have released last year, Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class” was straight from the get go rumoured for another visual showdown and rise between Professor X (played by James McAvoy) and Magneto (played by Michael Fassbender). With FOX studios confirming this, as well as determined to bring back director Matthew Vaughn to helm the project, it seems they have succeeded in doing so…

Deadline reported on Fox’s President of Production Emma Watts renewing her contract that will run till 2015. A little mention was made via that same report saying the studio were successful in gaining Matthew Vaughn to return and direct an unnamed sequel. the “unnamed sequel”/First Class 2 would also be worked on from a script being written by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand, Jumper, Sherlock Holmes) and with Bryan Singer once again producing.

It is likely as well then from this point that majority of the cast, if not all of them, signed a multiple picture deal, which would likely see the return of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender playing their roles respectively. There is however no word of confirmation whether the likes of Jennifer Lawrence (playing Mystique) or even January Jones (playing Emma Frost) will make a return, it would seem strange otherwise if they do not.

There is also no confirmation whether a new X-Men character would be introduced, though speaking way back last year upon “X-Men: First Class” on-screen debut, Matthew Vaughn hinted (if there was to be a sequel) that he would likely include just one new character only.

Things change however, and only time will tell how all of this materializes. We are however, fairly pleased with the set up so far, hoping that Matthew Vaughn will again make an impressive sequel. Let us know however your thoughts on this – Happy to see a sequel come about?

The advice he gives is so simple, yet so strong. He uses himself as an example, speaking on how he got started. Originally he just wanted to create a play, and from focusing all his energy into that one thing all the other opportunities came about. Be sure to watch this video and soak up the game.

As the title suggests, this is indeed a spoiler, though mainly a 50/50 chance it could happen or not. However reading this would likely cause a spoiler alert, so go back to our homepage if you wish to not continue reading. If you’re still here however, continue…

As comic book lovers ourselves, “The Avengers” is one highly anticipated film for us at the Epic Network. The likes of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk all banding together to create the ultimate super-group is nothing but nerd-gasm for many. Further pushing the fact all characters are played by top stars, including Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, with ALSO Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity) directing, there is a lot of hype going towards this project.

And it seems Joss Whedon is aiming for success, further bringing in more surprises by lining up the ultimate crossover possibly for Marvel fans. In tradition of comic book crossovers, and in general the comics themselves building multiple stories and universes to focus on reading, we are expected to see one of the most popular superheroes make a cameo in “The Avengers”, that hero being our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

According to actress Jenny Agutter, who I suppose is in the movie somewhere, she revealed there was a parking lot full of Winnebagos, with one being reserved for Iron Man, and also one for Spider-Man. Quoted to say to Radio Times: “I’m sworn to secrecy. I wasn’t allowed a script until I got there, and when I did I felt like a complete child being on big sets and a huge parking lot full of Winnebagos”.

It sort of makes sense, both movies are currently filmed on the same set, all Marvel characters, and with Sony owning the rights to Spider-Man currently they would want to look for ways to promote the web-slinging star before its release (The Amazing Spider-Man releases couple months after The Avengers). Also for comic book fans Spider-Man is apart of the “New Avengers”, which further speculates and pushes interesting thoughts on if this would be true or not.

If true, this would be quite an awesome feature. As little as it could be, it’s the little things that count in making a movie enjoyable. I mean you can’t tell me every time Stan Lee show’s his face in the marvel movies, you cannot help but chuckle or point him out.

Let us know what you think of the possible cameo – what do you expect could happen if this were to be? “The Avengers” is for 27th April this year, “The Amazing Spider-Man” a couple months after.

With the Academy Awards/Oscars just a month away this year, the nominations list was announced yesterday with no one being [...]

With the Academy Awards/Oscars just a month away this year, the nominations list was announced yesterday with no one being surprised “The Artist” practically leading the list. Five nominations in major categories, including ‘Best Picture,’ ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Director’. The likes of George Clooney and his movie “The Descendants” also gets notice as well as Terrence Malick’s “Tree Of Life” squeezes itself in the ‘Best Picture’ category also…

Martin Scorcese’s “Hugo” received the most nominations (11) including that of ‘Best Director’, and surprisingly Gary Oldman receives his nomination for ‘Best Actor’ in his role on the movie “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”. The surprises however more so come from what was actually left out of the Oscars; Michael Fassbender – an actor who was heavily tipped for a nomination – has been left out for his performance in “Shame” (a movie that also does not make an appearance anywhere), as well as Ryan Gosling himself has been looked over instead following his impressive year in the Hollywood scene. Two of his film appearances “Drive” and “The Ides Of March” both overlooked and overshadowed.

Steven Speilberg’s “The Adventures Of Tintin” was also unheard of in the ‘Best Animation’ section, and gathering by the list below it does seem a little strange on who/how these nominations can be picked at times. No disrespect at all to the line up, though there are a lot of films that have received much bigger applause but not making the list.

We understand that, spoilers are pretty annoying, and we have posted quite a few that is “Dark Knight Rises” related. [...]

We understand that, spoilers are pretty annoying, and we have posted quite a few that is “Dark Knight Rises” related. We ourselves want to be kept in the dark at times to enjoy the movie, but as a site that reports news for those especially wanting to read the spoilers, unfortunately we have to post. This certain news, whilst not exactly much of a big deal but more a confirmation of what we all had expected, can be considered to cause a loud tut noise and slight rage for the ultra sensitive. So as normal for those who want to be kept in the “dark (k)night” (till you rise upon the movies release…get it?), have a look instead at the trailer, again, it is a good trailer after all. For those still reading on this page…

In an interview recently with My Entertainment World 13-year-old actress Joey King may have given away a bit too much information regards to her role on Christopher Nolan’s finale in the Batman films with “The Dark Knight Rises.” Whilst the child star promised to keep tight-lipped about the project, it took one sentence to expand and reveal several hundred thoughts, revealing who she plays which, after much past speculation, most likely confirms what everyone thought.

“I play young Talia al Ghul,” revealed King. “I can’t give too much away because I promised Mr. Nolan I wouldn’t say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie.”

As mentioned above, This is probably not much of a surprise to many who had already guessed that Talia Al-Ghul would in fact be a villain to Batman in the third installment, most likely confirming the character Miranda Tate, played by Marion Coutillard, expected to be the present day/older version of Talia. However it is something Christopher Nolan himself has again pulled his hair over, for a man who does not like to provide every detail possible, this movie seems to give ever clue away of what we’re expecting. On IMDb Joey King’s character role is also left blank, which already lead to suggest she’s Talia.

To further fuel the speculation, Joey King mentioned she filmed scenes across London and India, with India specifically being photographed in a place resembling the Lazarus Pit, used by Ra’s al Ghul to cheat death in the comics.

So should we assume Miranda Tate is Talia Al-Ghul? Only time will tell, specifically 20th July this year. Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Coutillard, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and more, let us know your thoughts and expectations.

A press conference in Tokyo, Japan was held featuring the stars plus team behind Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Included [...]

A press conference in Tokyo, Japan was held featuring the stars plus team behind Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Included amongst the panel were Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), alongside produce Avi Arad and Marc Webb himself, discussing a few expectations of the movie as well as hyping an announcement that Spider-Man will be first launched in Japan before any other territory on 30th June this year…

Amidst build up to the movie, producer Avi Arad described the “The Amazing Spider-Man” as a more human approach to the superhero compared to Sam Raimi’s trilogy. He went to say: “In our movie, [Peter] finds his true love, Gwen Stacy was always the true love of Peter Parker… We found a very, very good story about what makes a human being. About what sets their destiny.”

With the press and fans in attendance they were also shown a special footage, to which actor Andrew Garfield emphasized: “As you can see, a lot of the stunts are practical and grounded in reality. That was something that Marc, the director, really wanted to make sure happened in this movie to set it apart from previous ones… I would exhaust myself every day and get into near-death experiences every hour on the hour… I collaborated with [the stunt team] not only on the big stunt set-pieces but also on what happens to Peter’s body when he gets bitten. What happens to his DNA and how that effects the way he moves and the way he interacts with objects. The idea that he has spider DNA running in his system. What that will do to his sense of space. What that will do to the sensitivity of his skin. To have an opportunity to play in that forum with creative and talented people was a real opportunity and gift.”

The group went on to explain the two additions to the movie, with Rhys Ifans to play as Dr. Connors and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, who sets her role apart from the Gwen Stacy played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spider-Man 3 by saying “We haven’t even met Mary Jane at this point,” leaving that to be deciphered however way possible for hardcore fans.

Talking more about the relationship between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, and whether the ‘iconic kiss’ from the first trilogy will be ever replicated between then new two, Emma Stone replied: “You don’t want to know! You want to watch the movie and find out. Plus, it would be weird if we were like, ‘There’s something iconic coming up!’ You’ve got to decide if it’s iconic or not. But there is a nice first kiss and it’s different than the upside down one. And we liked it.”

Regards to Dr. Connors, Avi Arad steps in again to say: “We introduce our villain, Dr. Connors, and in the great tradition of Marvel, Dr. Connors is going to be connected to Peter Parker and, in our case even more interesting, to Gwen Stacy. Right there, the challenge of having to deal with a villain who is a mentor and the only one who you can look at and say, ‘So what really happened to my dad?’ That’s a very hard person to fight.”

Much, much more can be viewed in the video below, where the full conference is roughly nearly an hour of watching.

Opening domestically on 3rd July this year, “The Amazing Spider-Man” stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans and more. Directed by Marc Webb, let us know your thoughts and expectations.

Many say he’s bluffing, many more seem to not care so much, but speaking with the New York Times George Lucas announced that he would be retiring from making “blockbuster movies” and instead focus back towards creating personal films. With George saying that we imagine he stars his Star Wars toys and putting them on focus through one camera describing the variation of different endings he wished to have made upon the movies…

In all serious talk; Lucas was speaking on behalf of his latest project “Red Tails”, a WW2 drama pic which stars Ne-Yo (no judging), which he described the difficulties of actually getting the movie picked up and made.

“I can’t make that [kind of] movie,” he complained. “I’m going to have make this kind of… entertainment movie. [So] I’m retiring. I’m moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff.”

The newspaper was quick to note that the 67-yearl old director was careful to leave himself an out clause for a fifth “Indiana Jones” film, with producer Rick McCallum adding: “Once this is finished, he’s done everything he’s ever wanted to do, he will have completed his task as a man and a filmmaker.”

So the reasoning to wanting to retire now? It mainly seems due to tiredness from bickering fans, as George Lucas had some words for those accusing him of constantly tinkering with the Star Wars franchise.

“On the Internet, all those same guys that are complaining I made a change are completely changing the movie. I’m saying: ‘Fine. But my movie, with my name on it, that says I did it, needs to be the way I want it.’

“Why would I make any more,” he adds, “when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?”

Clearly feeling a little touchy, it seems only logical for the director to devote the rest of his life to ‘personal films.’ as The Times describe it: “They’ll be small in scope, esoteric in subject and screened mostly in art houses. They’ll be like the experimental movies Lucas made in the 1960s, around the time he was at U.S.C. film school, when he recorded clouds moving over the desert and made a movie based on an E. E. Cummings poem.”

So, we ask you, what do you have to say for yourselves!? Apparently this has been said before, so whether we take this serious or not is yet to be clear. Be it cruel or sympathetic, let us know your thoughts.

It’s another year which the producers of the Golden Globes technically wanted: Ricky Gervais hosting for his third year and insulting some sort of star who then rants on Twitter, as well as a night for stars to (somewhat) remember for especially the veterans of the acting world. George Clooney picked up the Best Actor in Drama award for his starring role of “The Descendants” as well as Meryl Streep picked up Best Female for her role as former PM Margaret Thatcher in “Iron Lady”…

The multiple timed winners were also joined by actress Michelle Williams and actor Jean Dujardin, who both picked up awards for Best in Comedy/Musical Motion, with Michelle winning for “My Week With Marylin” and Jean for the highly praised “The Artist.”

Regards to films, “The Adventures Of Tintin” was a well-deserved winner regards to Best Animated Feature Film, But it was “The Descendants” that picked up the Best Motion Picture in the end of the night. Martin Scorsese nabbed the Best Director award for his work on “Hugo”, whilst Woody Allen picked up the Best Screenplay award for “Midnight In Paris.”

For TV shows, the likes of “Homeland,” “Modern Family” and mini-series “Downtown Abbey” picked up Golden Globes, whilst also worth mentioning (for fellow writer Gary’s sake) that British star Idris Elba won Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. A mouthful of an award.

Above all, it was the Cecil B. DeMille Award honoured this year to Morgan Freeman that likely stole the show. The recognition, class and longevity Freeman has given to us all can never be ignored, and as normal brilliant to see an actor deserve his spot to be remembered.

Checkout the list below, with the text highlighted in bold the winner of the category. Possible pictures will be followed after this, though in the meantime let us know your thoughts – did you watch the Golden Globes? Crazy night?:

The start of next month is the release of super-powered-kids movie “Chronicle,” to which if you have not yet seen the trailer then I suggest you click here. It’s a movie that is not screaming “masterclass,” but could turn out to be one of the most interesting films to watch this year, depending on how you feel about ‘sleeper hits’…

Normally a film that contains teenagers gaining powers usually leads to the main hero struggling to cope, getting a bit big-headed and losing the girl of his dreams only to then win her at the end by saving the world from the evil scientist (not thinking Spider-Man here, no worries). “Chronicle” however seems like a refreshing look at a reality check of what would/could usually happen if we really did gain powers: act a little stupid.

Clip below provides an example of what we mean. Again it is great to see actor Michael B. Jordan appearing on the big screen, hopefully after this his career will further progress onto better ambitions for the young star.

All in all the film comes out 1st February, directed by Josh Trank and stars Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly and Alex Russell. Checkout the clip below and let us know your thoughts and anticipation – excited for this one?

Yes, another time to discuss a gaming character being reformed in the real life acting/entertainment world. It seems this feature [...]

Yes, another time to discuss a gaming character being reformed in the real life acting/entertainment world. It seems this feature of what gaming character would be perfect for the big screen could become a regular posting session here on the site, where at first I gave an opinion to my suggestions of who could play as Lara Croft amidst the news of a new reboot to the franchise (both gaming and movie). This time I’m taking it to space, with the popular game series “Mass Effect” becoming more and more of an open universe, branching out from the game series with comics, novels, as well as early rumours of a movie adaptation as well.

This is also possibly my favourite set of game(s) to play; Mass Effect is an opportunity for players to explore and take on Sci-Fi insanity like no other. An adventure/RPG game with endless hours of fun and surprisingly good frustration, a script that is just as intense as a movie, and beautiful character models with different specie interaction make this game evidently one of the best on the market. So good in fact, it would take a hefty challenge to convert into a movie and live up to a hype Mass Effect can deliver via our consoles. With the release of Mass Effect 3 ever so close, a possibility of a Mass Effect movie can happen, with studios yet to receive a rough draft from any writer(s) daring to make an attempt. The question however, when rumours as such start, is always straight to the point: Who would fill the space boots and be the main character AKA John/Jane Shepard.

The game enabled you to create your own features for your John/Jane Shepard (which has delivered some laughs as always), or to be sane and simple and go for the default design. Saying that however; it means just about ANYONE could really play the main role regards to looks. It would be all about the personality in this case as well as physical shape. Being Stern, Strong willed, has a commanding presence and really…just be able to act are the key elements in this case, which is where I deliver my top ten choices for who could fit the role. These are in no order at all, and the images in the gallery below provide a description of why they were chosen.

Check out the list below then and let us know what you think – Have anyone in mind that can save the galaxy just as well as the ones in the gallery?

Recognized especially in her role of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" film trilogy in Sweden, Noomi Rapace has been mentioned to become something special. She's recently appearing in "Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows," and will tag alongside Charlize Theron in "Prometheus," where a picture surfacing online sees the actress practically donning a Shepard-like space armour. There's no doubt Noomi Rapace is great, but really, in Hollywood "Prometheus" as well as "Passion" will be the flicks that will show an audience just what she is capable of. I am already convinced she can play as Shepard, but can she convince franchise fans?" class="shutterset_set_128" >

Though likely the least approved choice on this list, Matthew Fox is thought of as the guy with an opportunity. He has the looks, and is a decent actor - the star of a popular TV show as well as the movie "Vantage Point" enabled him to weirdly show a bastard side of him, giving a somewhat enjoyable performance. Whilst no one will mention "Speed Racer," Pitting Matthew Fox in space armour and giving him a gun could bring out a surprising performance, bringing the best out of tense moments as well as handling his own strength." class="shutterset_set_128" >

She's dealt with the Devil in "Constantine," She was a dragon in "Eragon," showed emotion in "The Lovely Bones" and she is set to appear in this years "Bourne Legacy" alongside Jeremy Renner. She's also married to James Bond/Daniel Craig. She boasts a load of heavy duty roles which to then jump into starring role material and commanding a whole fleet I personally think would not be a problem. Whilst there is the fantasy and action experience, the Sci-Fi side of things are what Rachel Weisz lacks, so implying that attitude and reaction towards different species and generally convincing the public that she's into the whole scenario could prove difficult, but then again she could prove me and many more wrong..." class="shutterset_set_128" >

Star Trek sequel news has been exciting fans whenever possible, such as the news of actors Noel Clarke & Benedict Cumberbatch joining the cast, with the latter-named actor (known most-notably in the TV series “Sherlock”) the form of the films villain. Along with a release date and confirmation of 3D conversion, director J.J. Abrams discusses to Collider the opportunity of landing actor Cumberbatch as well as giving his thoughts on 3D technology being installed into the movie…

Regards to the actor, Abrams had nothing but compliments, stating “he’s a genius”. Simply put. He furthermore went on to say: “Honestly, he’s just an incredible actor. If you’ve seen his work in Sherlock, he’s just got incredible skills. He’s an amazing stage actor. He did amazing work in Frankenstein. He’s brilliant. You try to cast people who are great. We got lucky.”

With confirmation of “Sherlock” gaining a new season as well as making his voice heard in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit”, Benedict Cumberbatch looks set to having a steady rise in Hollywood beginning midway this year.

J.J. Abrams then went on to discuss the use of 3D in Star Trek 2, admitting at first it was an option he did not wish to partake in, but eventually succumbed to adding on after seeing segments of the first film being given the treatment.

“I did not fight for the 3D,” he says. “It was something that the studio wanted to do, and I didn’t want to do it. And then, when I saw the first movie converted in sections, I thought that it actually looked really cool. So, I was OK with their doing it, as long as I could shoot the movie the way I wanted to, in anamorphic film, and then let them convert it. So, those who want to see it in 3D, which looked pretty cool, can do it, and those that want to see it in 2D can do that too.”

With the movie set to be amongst the summer hits next year, J.J. Abrams remained tight-lipped over plot details, with the director merely stating this movie is looking to delve deeper into the Star Trek universe.

Quoted to have said: “I think the job of the first movie was just to establish it. I don’t want to give anything away, but I would say that the burden we had in the first movie was just existing at all. With this movie, instead of having to stand on the shoulders of the original series, we built a little bit of a platform for us, with the last movie, to tell this story.”

So for now a fair bit to take in regards to expectation, but in our mind this is no doubt worth the wait. Star Trek 2 will be set for a 17th May 2013 release in the US, no mention yet of a UK release. Starring the likes of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Noel Clarke, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and more, let us know what you expect.

Whilst for Warner Bros it has been a difficult attempt to bringing the Manga classic “Akira” towards a live action [...]

Whilst for Warner Bros it has been a difficult attempt to bringing the Manga classic “Akira” towards a live action feel, it is likely considered to many more as the best news ever, as the studio has put the project of a live-action Akira on hold, citing the movie budget being the main issue…

Reported via The Hollywood Reporter, word is pre-production has been halted so that the film’s budget can be reworked, bringing the current $90 million pricetag down by at least $20 million if the project is to move forward. Whilst given the green light in October and seemingly moving at a steady pace, reduce of budget can only be down towards the fans unappreciative response of this movie being made in the first place; causing possible fears that this movie will not make a profit of over $90 million. That, and generally saving the money as it is.

Personally I can agree with the negative response. Already this movie has broken elements of the original Manga from 1988. Akira, depicts a sci-fi cyberpunk dystopia in “Neo-Tokyo.”. The new version is already said to relocate the action to “New Manhattan,” fancy.

Also, it was reported back in May Keanu Reeves turned down the role playing Kaneda. A big fan himself of Akira, it spoke volumes amongst fans that someone like Keanu Reeves would reject a role as such. This however does not seem to stop Warner Bros. to making this happen, with “TRON: Legacy” actor Garrett Hedlund creating some buzz being the only name attached to the project, while the rumours of Helena Bonham Carter, Kristen Stewart and Ken Watanabe to join are surfacing. If Kristen Stewart is confirmed, consider this unfortunately difficult to watch on our part.

To be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (House Of Wax, Goal 2: Living The Dream), a script is yet to be created amongst producers and writers for a release date to be confirmed. If that however does not live up to the studios satisfaction, consider this movie ambition off the table, where I’m sure most of us will prefer.

We could be wrong, let us know what you think – do you want to see a live-action Akira?
