It seems this beat has become a popular choice among rappers, first Rick Rozay and Meek Mill took a stab at The Throne’s “No Church In The Wild” – Then Joe Budden lyrically killed it.. Now Jim Jones and Trav style on it with some hardcore street shit. By the looks of it we can also expect a music video for this sometime in the future.

The track will appear on Trav’s upcoming Mixtape PUSH.

Gucci Mane has been going and in out of Jail in the last two or three years but every time he goes in and comes out his music gets better and better each time. Every Song on the Mixtape is Solid and you’ll find one that is your favorite, this is probably the 1st Gucci Mane projects I’ve listened to from front to back. He has features from 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka, Future, Yo Gotti, Rocko, JadaKiss and Chilly Chill with production from Mike Will, Sonny Digital, Zaytoven, Lex Lugar, Drumma Boy, KE On the Track and Southside. #NewMusic: Big K.R.I.T. – Boobie Miles

Big K.R.I.T. has been making noise in recent months for himself, and is possibly right now the only emcee who is truly staying to hip hop roots. The much anticipated debut album will be due in time from the southern artist, though in the meantime Big K.R.I.T. plans on releasing his mixtape “4eva and a Day” very soon, with the first single “Boobie Miles” showing just what is to be expected – nothing but decent bars and mellow beats with this one…

We mentioned it before and this is personally speaking; Big K.R.I.T. is one artist (and most likely the only artist this year) who we are hoping good things from. “Boobie Miles” shows a bit of promise regards to what this artist is capable of, and judging by previous material that K.R.I.T. has provided he should be an instant classic upon his official debut. That is, if Def Jam let him continue to do what he do.

#NewMusic: Joell Ortiz – I Want It All (Feat. iFFY The Bad Man)

If ever there is a time to join the bandwagon of cliche artists talking about the same topic of money, how you want it, how it runs things and pretty much go back on your previous style just in hopes of getting a record deal, there is no better then for Joell Ortiz to go ahead and make what appears to be the weirdest track I’ve heard from the Puerto Rican rapper. Joining artist ‘iFFY The Bad Man’ (really? That’s an artists name nowadays?), “I Want It All” is the latest sounds which is likely to get people bringing mixed reactions…

Whilst the verses are decent, they are not the best we’ve heard from Joell Ortiz himself. The fact the Slaughterhouse member is open to experimenting is a fine trait to hold amongst an artist, but in this case it’s very difficult to find a chemistry between the voice of Joell Ortiz and this beat. Typically, the song is about money and how Joell wants it, has it, did stuff with it, and so on. Personally speaking; when an artist brags about thinking they’re safe from economical crisis, it tends to degrade an artists appearance as a whole.

The main bait of this track however is that hook, which is unfortunately causing bleeding ears across the hip-hop fields. Adding a hook as such at the beginning of the track is risky at times, and the follow up verse from Joell Ortiz did not really help make the situation better. Also by calling yourself ‘iFFY The Bad Man’ you are bound to get zero respect amongst many that can raise an eyebrow.

Joe Budden goes back to his roots and drops off a freestyle full of lyrical sickness. This is the mixtape Joey that I first fell in love with (pause?). I’m not sure he’ll ever outdo himself by going in like he did on Dumb Out, but this track is certainly the best display of lyricism I’ve heard from him in a while.

I guess when Joey said “I’m not watching the throne, I’m sabotaging it” he meant it, as he flows over the Watch The Throne intro song, doing a much better job than any other attempt I’ve heard previously (*cough*RossandMeekMill*cough*)

#NewMusic: KJ Hamilton – Billy Holiday (Feat. Charlie Powell)

One of our favourites in the underground scenes is at it again, as Kj Hamilton delivers another track, “Billy holiday,” fresh out of his upcoming EP “Aspiring MC, Vol II”, a sequel to the first. We at the Epic Network mention it time and time again that the rapper residing in New York is definitely delivering some decent work, providing a variation of flows of how he rhymes, which he can only get better eventually finding his perfect style…

The track, produced by King Coz, features New Jersey native Chris Powell. Both artists go in on consciousness of social realities as well as normal the deep lyricism is always there. It’s a nice combination between the two artists, and the words spoken are of, at times, truth in outcomes.

#NewMusic: Eric Turner – Angels And Stars (Feat. Lupe Fiasco & Tinie Tempah)

Known mainly for making your choruses/hooks pretty catchy and looking like Jesus, Eric Turner is about to pull a Bruno Mars, Skylar Grey, Treyz Song and any other artist you remember the lyrics from where they featured. His single “Angels And Stars” has dropped online and features two acts which he is seemingly familiar with working in the past: Chicago’s Lupe Fiasco and UK’s Tinie Tempah…

Of course, Eric Turner featured for both artists, with “Break The Chain” on Lupe Fiasco’s “Lasers” album as well as helping Tinie Tempah reach his standards of fame with “written In The Stars”. With the roles reversed you would think this combination would be deadly, but it is far from that.

In fact the track is pretty average in our personal opinion. The style of beat replicates heavily to “Written In The Stars” as well as Eric Turner himself seems to still take the backseat on this track and recite a few lines and then focus mainly on the hook. As normal Lupe Fiasco delivers a decent verse, whilst Tinie Tempah’s part is a nice ‘attempt’ to further his identity in the US. This is however likely a track that will quickly grow on people and singing the one lyric.
