The reboot is really taking a new fresh look for (nearly) everybody’s favourite superhero Spider-Man, as Marc Webb and Sony Pictures confirm that Peter Parker’s squeeze Mary Jane will NOT feature into the movie.
With this news it really just leaves three choices in the fans eyes: Gwen Stacy, who was Peter’s other comic-book squeeze (was also played by Bryce Dallas Howard in the third installment, but very unlikely she would reprise the role in this reboot), Felicia Hardy, known also as Black Cat, OR a completely brand new love interest.
Its not like anybody cared for Kirsten Dunst anyways, but even so its quite an interesting take on what Marc Webb’s vision is going in on making this movie, and according to Heat Vision, Sony pictures already have there five shortlist for the female role, which are the chosen ones below:
From left to right: Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, the upcoming remake of Fright Night), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, I Am Number Four) and Emma Roberts (Hotel for Dogs, Valentine’s Day).
It is quite easy to go ahead and pick Emma Roberts for the role, but I’m not going to make my guess just yet, because I kind of have this sinking feeling inside that the movie is going to disappoint a little…
But let us know what you think in the comments – Who’s your ideal errm…girl…out of the five?
