Few days back there were talks of Wycleff possibly running for President of Haiti, which led to mixed thoughts. The bad being that he was in a rumored scandal that part of the money that he received for his organization, Yele Haiti, was spent on his lady ($100,000 to be exact). The pro being however that the man is very passionate towards the movement and care of Haiti.

Wycleff Jean has worked on raising awareness of various issues in Haiti. From that he became one of Haiti’s strongest supporters following the earthquake that struck the country earlier this year. Speaking to CNN he indeed has stated that he has filled all the paperwork required to enter the presidential race, though Yele Haiti have released a statement which says Wycleff Jean has yet to decide whether he actually will run or not.

The statement says: “Wyclef’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward. At this time, Wyclef Jean has not announced his intent to run for Haitian president.”

We are still to hear publicly from the artist himself whether he actually will run, as the presidential hopefuls will declare whether they are running or not by deadline of 7th August.
