If you watched Sherlock Holmes, you’d have seen an amazing performance from both Robert Downey Jr. and ‘Watson’ Jude Law. The movie, which got Robert Downey a Golden Globe, was so good enough to garner a sequel and be officially a successful franchise.

Speaking at the 45th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where he accepted the Festival President’s Award, Jude Law revealed: “It looks likely that we’re going to shoot the second Sherlock Holmes in October.” Which is good news to hear, as it was slated to start production in December time.

“I don’t know yet where the story will go, but there are a lot of Sherlock Holmes novels to choose from” he says keeping it all vague, as do they all…

The second half of 2010 seems to be a promising busy time for Jude Law, as Martin Scorcese’s Hugo Cabret and Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion on his horizon. But the Brit actor is looking forward to getting back to the Sherlock Holmes scene, saying “I had so much fun making Sherlock Holmes that the question of how much money it would make just wasn’t one of my priorities.”

“I was really pleased it was such a success but mostly because that will give me the opportunity to work with Robert and Guy again.” Aw, man love.
