It looks like another Star Wars movie could be on the plate for George Lucas and crew once again, this however being the adaptation of the biggest selling Star Wars game dated: The Force Unleashed.
While a TV series is being made, its reported on CVG that the game, which bridges the gap between the two sets of the trilogies, could be adapted into either the show or into a movie itself. Which means we’d have to see that damn Hayden Christensen all over!
This was confirmed by executive producer Haden Blackman, that the characters he helped create in The Force Unleashed could make appearances in further Star Wars adventures.
He goes to say: “I hope so, we’re already seeing it reach out into publishing with comic books and novels that are taking into account stories we’ve created and characters we’ve created hopefully some day we see these characters on big or little screen.
“We’re dealing in a period of time that has largely been unexplored by anything. Force Unleashed was the first major story we set in that time period.
“I think we surprised a lot of fans with that story because we showed the formation of the Rebel Alliance and introduce the concept of the dark secret apprentice.”
The Force Unleashed is a third-person action game, introducing a new lead character in the form of Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. Personally I’d like to see Star Wars go somewhere different, make a film of Jedi’s and Sith years before what we see now. Go a Knights Of The Old Republic (KOTOR) route, which to this day is still one of my favourite games. There was rumours along with the TV series that George Lucas was wanting to make a Star Wars movie 80 years before Episode 1, which would have been interesting to carry on with. Just start new!
But let us know what you think – liked the game? Worth seeing to be adapted into a movie?
