She’s become a massive hit to the public, to a majority she oozes as much sex appeal as possible and bring hip-hop for females to a whole new level, to others, she just oozes, kind of annoying, seemingly looked like someone got tired of stamping on her, and really not much new or anything shocking in the hip-hop world. Nonetheless the ‘Barbie’ loving…thing…is recognized from left to right, and recently picking up three accolades at the BET awards shows how far she’s come…or something like that.

But little Nicki has, or is trying to make, a conscious effort to tone it down a bit for the young girls that look up to her. A shame I guess for the boys who look up or down to her.

Speaking to Interview Magazine (really? that’s what you’re called?), She says: “I made a conscious decision to try to tone down the sexiness. I want people, especially young girls, to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. You’ve got to have something else to go with that.”

The Young Money star then went on to say that a lot of people in hip-hop don’t get her and think that she’s weird, but she doesn’t mind:

“I don’t mind being called a weirdo. There are a lot of people in hip-hop who are probably never going to get what I do. But, by just being myself, I end up touching a lot more people who might never have paid much attention to a female rapper.”

My opinion being: It won’t happen, not in this day and age. Sex sells over talent, and Nicki Minaj became living proof of that (example: here) and others are fairly blind in seeing. She kinda talks rubbish, and sounds very similar to everyone in life. We’re all weird woman! Can’t exactly single yourself on that one.
