In an interview with Tim Kash on MTV; when asked if he thought a battle with Jay-Z would be a good thing, 50 Cent said the following. “I think it would be a very good thing for Hip Hop, but I’m not sure one of us will survive. That is a very strong statement to come from 50. Although 50 is on par with Jay-Z money wise, I feel as though Jay-Z is the more popular of the two.

I personally fell 50 has the realer music out of the two, but as history has taught us, the most popular rapper can beat a rapper who may be better on the mic.
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t think 50 is the most lyrical of the two. But I do feel that his songs and lyrics have more meaning, where people may think he is just rapping about gangster tough guy shit, if you read into what he says more you’ll notice 50 uses a lot of metaphors.

For 50 to say that statement, it is actually making me feel like he may be bodying himself. 50 is in a space where he will most likely be always well off, but as far as being relevant in Hip Hop, this may just be a bad move.

On the other hand Jay-Z may not even respond, either that or he will respond with a series of subliminals. But for those who pay attention to Jay’s music, he has already been sending subliminal jabs to 50 Cent.

Only time will tell, but this will be very interesting.
