It seems X-Men: First Class is steadily making its way to production, with earlier news of James McAvoy will play a young Professor X and possibly a a candidate for Magneto is possibly a done deal, more casting news comes abound that 20th Century Fox are keen to signing Rosamund Pike and Amber Heard to play the roles of Moira MacTaggert and Mystique respectively, though this is still unofficial.

Rosamund Pike you may know from being in The Surrogates, Doom, An Education, Fracture. Previously Rosamund Pike was linked with a role to play Emma Frost, but that idea seems to have been now ditched and will likely be given the role of Moira MacTaggert, the scientist who was once engaged to Professor X during their stint at Oxford University (always Oxford…)but reasons unknown she left, later returning being the co-creator of Cerebro and helping Jean Grey recover from her state of triggering her own mutant abilities.

Amber Heard you may know as the girl in Pineapple Express, or the girl in the awful yet not bad fight scenes Never Back Down, OR the girl from 406 in Zombieland…basically…that girl. She is most likely to be Mystique, as we know the shape-shifting red headed yet blue skinned female felon. mother of the villain Graydon Creed, the X-Men hero Nightcrawler, and adoptive mother of the hero Rogue. but thats in later stages of the story really…

Technically the only official cast is James McAvoy, but the rumour mill is also spinning that Matthew Vaughn’s new boy hero Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass anyone?) is “locked” for the role as Cyclops, even though he’s been tipped as the new spider-man reboot.
