Gym Class Heroes lead member Travie McCoy is gearing for his debut solo album release “Lazarus”, but still gave time to mention about a new album with his band.
The last album by GCH was “The Quilt” released in 2008, but as the lyric in the track “Don’t Tell Me Its Over” says “We shat on 07/08 is gonna be great/imagine 20 11″, and it seems the timing was pretty perfect…
He says: “We’ve been working on it. I think the next Gym Class album is going to be a lot more introspective and personal. It’s like four dudes in a room just vibing off each other and it’s just deeper.
Lazarus is actually going to be more fun. I didn’t want to put too much of my personal life in there. It’s more of a light-hearted, laid-back kind of album from start to finish.
“At this point in my life, I’m much happier than I was going into this album. There were a couple of songs that I scrapped because I felt that they brought the record down. I wanted to keep it upbeat and keep everybody smiling.”
Can’t wait. check out a sort-of live acoustic version (they seem to just be chillin’ in a car park somewhere) of “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno “I still make your choruses sound great” Mars. Let us know your thoughts.
