Spider-Man: Jamie Bell In The Shortlist

Its been pretty quiet since the announcement of Sony studios deciding a reboot of taking it back to high school for fan favourite Spider-Man was announced over a possible Spider-Man 4. Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire out, Marc Jacobs and his mystery, new and younger Spidey in. Nobody cares about Kirsten Dunst.

Names were tossed about, most common ones were Zac Effron, and Percy Jackson’s Logan Leman. Most random ones were Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Patrick Fugit (who?). waiting for someone to suggest Justin Beiber, being that everyone is randomly up that midgets ass all day…
But instead its the name of Jamie Bell that has joined the apparent long list of names to be the next rebooted Spider-Man. I say apparent long list, because while people can shout out various names, rumours have it there’s just a shortlist of…five, namely; Jamie Bell, Andrew Garfield, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane and Josh Hutcherson.

Nothing has been confirmed, no screen tests, script reading, Sony and Marc Jacobs still look on, so it could be that this is just aload of jibberish talk, and eventually we could just be swayed into seeing something out of the blue like Vinnie Jones being Spider-Man, in high school, imagine that? Seriously and thankfully Unlikely but imagine…

If that however does prove to be the shortlist, who would you pick? If it helps, Jamie Bell has the most movies and good experience under his name (Billy Elliot, King Kong, Jumper, and the upcoming TinTin, I think Steven Speilberg’s one) but can you picture him making a good Spidey?
Andrew Garfield also has good experience (Lions For Lambs, The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus), but at 27 years, he may be considered old for the role.
Alden Ehrenreich is somewhat of a newcomer, discovered by Steven Speilberg, not bad, but can he be imagined as Spidey?
Regards to Josh Hutcherson (Zathura, Bridge To Terabithia), though soon to be 18, he may be considered too young for the role. so picky aren’t they!?
With only Frank Dillane left (Tom Riddle in Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince), he could possibly prove to be the best bet.

Personally I like the idea of Jamie Bell now that his name is being tossed around and me going “oh yeah, him!”, He was the only good thing in Jumper (him…and Rachel Bilson anyways), better than Hayden Christensen by far. Billy Elliot is seen as something of a classic now, and being in TinTin is a great project, but will that be what hampers his chances to be in Spider-Man? Timing?
Again, we can’t really know yet till the studios say something. We can however put the faces to the names, so even you can go “oh yeah!”:

Jamie Bell:

Andrew Garfield:

Alden Ehrenreich:

Frank Dillane:

Josh Hutcherson:

Any of those you think you can see as the new Spidey? Or do you just have the sudden urge to punch someone?

Gotta agree that Jamie Bell is the best fit out of these.
