Marvel news again, only this time focusing on the prequel of the X-Men, which follows the birth and/or formation of the X-Men, plus following the relationship between Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Magneto.
Set to be directed by recently Kick-Ass Matthew Vaughn, it has been announced that James McAvoy has been casted to play the young version of Professor X. Amazing news for two reasons: 1. We wouldn’t have to see Patrick Stewart getting some CGI botox (I’m looking at you Wolverine…if thats how you really played your game) as much as we all love the guy, and 2. James McAvoy is a real talent to have for any movies. Personally one of my favourites, and one of the best young British actors around. Though this may show McAvoy out of the running to play Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Hobbit”?
And who to play Magneto? As Vaughn is directing, could we see his Kick-Ass student Aaron Johnson once again in the fold? Or has a different role been made for the young British hero?
Meanwhile producer Bryan Singer confirmed pretty much that First Class will most likely “supersede” planned story for an X-Men Origins: Magneto movie. This is being that First Class deals with the story of a young Magneto, and also the “relationship between a young energetic professor and a disenfranchised victim of the Holocaust”.
Leave us your thoughts: James McAvoy a good choice for Professor X? Who would you want as Magneto? Remember they gotta be young, Its practically the beginning outlook!
