May 24th 2000. Curtis Jackson 3rd was leaving his grandmother’s house, getting into the back of a cab. Little did he know, he could have been leaving his grandmother’s house for good this time. Curtis Jackson was shot 9 times while in the back of the car, but somehow managed to survive. He barely even lost consciousness until surgery was performed upon him to remove the bullets that rested inside his flesh.
It was a miracle that Curtis survived; it showed that he is truly here for a reason. It was a tough road to recovery after he had successful surgery. He spent months rebuilding his body, learning how to move properly again. He trained at the gym regularly, and since then he has never stopped. Recovering from getting shot allowed him to pursue his music career with even more motivation than before. All Curtis knew was the streets his whole life and it almost killed him. Now it was time for him to leave the streets for good, and enter a world of wealth and success. Curtis was about to peak under the alias of 50 Cent.

In 2002 50 Cent gained the interest of the number one music artist at the time, Eminem. Eminem was a fan of all the material that 50 was putting out via his mixtapes. Those mixtapes gave 50 a buzz in New York that had never ever been seen before, and perhaps may never be again. Eminem let his mentor Dr. Dre hear 50′s Mixtapes, he was just as impressed as Eminem himself. They flew 50 out to meet him, and it was a done deal.
50 Cent has definitely made his mark on hip hop, and entertainment period. The reason I respect this man so much is because he survived through the lowest point in his life, and then came back 100 times stronger. He didn’t let the fact that he was almost murdered get in the way of his dreams. He worked hard and it paid off. Even after reaching success in music, 50 continued to work hard and struck gold with his Vitamin Water investment.
I am glad that Curtis Jackson’s story didn’t end this day 10 years ago, for he has become one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to business. So Fiddy, The Epic Network would like to salute you.
In the bible it says “what goes around comes around”
Hamo shot me, three weeks later he got shot down
now it’s clear that I’m here for a real reason
because he got hit like I got hit but he ain’t fuckin’ breathin
What hurt even more than the gunshot wounds, according to 50 Cent himself, was the fact that he got dropped by Columbia Records after getting shot. At that point 50 Cent wasn’t sure what to do with his life. He had left the crack game behind for the Rapgame to povide for his son. Then his past caught back up.
As you read this on ThisIs50.com, we all know how Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s story turned around. Fighting his way back into the Rapgame, he got discovered by Eminem and turned into a world-wide-known Rap-Superstar.
