Last summer we posted up news which had us quite intrigued for actress Emma Watson, who is now ready to broaden her roles in the movie world with the Harry Potter franchise finished. Rumours of director Guillermo Del Toro wanting to cast Emma Watson as ‘Beauty’ for his vision of a live-action remake of “Beauty And The Beast” turned out to be true, and it seems as though the man has got what he wished, as both are now attached to the project…
As we mentioned before, this is awkwardly a great team up. With Emma Watson now seemingly ready to break the chain of part roles she has received in, such as “My Week With Marilyn,” “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” and “Your Voice In My Head,” as well as having the magic side of things down professionally, it will be interesting to see how she can work under the director of many projects who, is somewhat an expert in making fantasies interesting to watch.
Though Guillermo Del Toro really is a ‘busy man’. After unfortunately dropping off from directing “The Hobbit”, he is now currently directing a PG-13 monster movie “Pacific Rim”, so any hopes/hype of the movie, which tells of the classic tale, to be released and worked on anytime soon is unlikely.
Still, “Beauty And The Beast” is coming along nicely now that a star is confirmed, with also “Bridget Jones’s Diary” writer Andrew Davies penning the script. Davies will be working from a treatment by Del Toro.
Overall, let us know your thoughts and opinions on the news – excited to see the outcome of this one?
