The question is WHY? WHY do people keep messing about with things that should no longer be toyed with? What is wrong with settling at three movies and then start to create something new? This is what we ask Paramount and Michael Bay, who confirmed a fourth Transformers is in plans for at least 2014. Do not be fooled that the “Battleship” trailer may as well have looked like a fourth installment for Transformers (both after all, are a part of Hasbro), but be aware that this is how big money talks…
following an earlier story plus trending topics on Twitter that Michael Bay may or may not direct a new Transformers movie, the director himself went on his official website to add the following statement:
“There has been a lot of speculation about what I’m going to do next and when or if I will do another Transformers. So let me set the record straight.
“I have just concluded a deal with Paramount to do two movies, but it won’t be two Transformers.
“I will first do ‘Pain & Gain’ with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
“Then I will do the next Transformers for release on June 29, 2014.”
-Michael Bay
All confirmed then. If the world seemingly does not end this year, we will have to wait two years cringing at the thought of super hyper weirdos absolutely going insane over shiny things, explosions and reaching puberty. Whilst we do not tend to slag a movie off before it’s released upon, the thought of another Transformers is personally an upsetting thought, as the last three have been fairly/hugely disappointing in my case. As a fan of the cartoon growing up, the lack of showing the films being all about the bots themselves and instead focusing more on America apparently being super powered against everything else does not win over anything positive.
Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, whilst speaking to Coming Soon, spoke of changing the story up however, stating “to try to do a hybrid where there will be some characters that come forward.
“We’re still in the process of figuring it out–and some characters that don’t [come forward], but it will definitely be a different story.”
Can that statement REALLY be trusted? No confirmation of Shia LeBeouf returning to the franchise, though overall let us know your thoughts and opinions on the news.
