The big day in which every girl (whether she admits it or not) looks forward to being surprised by an admirer is here. Men I hope you didn’t forget, especially if you are in an active relationship. I’m not too fussed about the day myself (single life #swag) , but hey if there’s somebody you like why not take the opportunity to let them know how you feel?
If your anything like me then you’ll prefer to stay in and chill with your partner rather than have to endure all the other over the top couples at your local restaurant who are clearly trying too hard to impress. If that’s the case, and you are struggling to find some decent post-sex entertainment for the special evening then don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
I reached out to some friends from other sites to build a decent list of movie recommendations. Not all of these are romantic, but you can bet that all of them will make great entertainment for you and your partner. For all my fellow celibate single lifers put some candles on, stock up on junk food and queue up all of the following on your “To Watch” list.

RAMEEZ QUADRI @RameezQuadri

Crazy/Beautiful
At Pacific Palisades High, a poor Latino falls hard for a troubled girl from the affluent neighborhood.
Rameez Says: I ain’t really a fan when it comes to Valentines day, so my movie choices are just more really about the cheesy-romance which can be enjoyable on just about any day as well a movie which seemingly works around a majority of girls. “Crazy/Beautiful” though pretty old, can still make a girl go through the strange emotions of happy, sad, anger, confusion, and then Ecstatic. A strange, yet definite pick up if found in stores (or online, for that matter) if you wanna get comfy with your girl.

A Walk To Remember
The story of two North Carolina teens, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan, who are thrown together after Landon gets into trouble and is made to do community service.
Rameez Says: A Romance-Drama which takes a certain twist, its the whole cliche high school setting which stars Mandy Moore as the quiet good girl and that guy I can only remember from ER, as the idiot. As the idiot first picks on the good girl, he then starts falling for her, but to keep his “cool” going he still pushes her in the mud now and then. It’s actually a story worth checking out if your girl is in the mood to cry. It would be harsh if you deliberately want to make her cry, but so far it has been effective. Another old one, but hey, romance stories seemed better then.

The Notebook
A poor and passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman and gives her a sense of freedom. They soon are separated by their social differences.
Rameez Says: I…actually have not seen this movie yet. But being constantly told to watch this movie to a point where guys even keep recommending this make “The Notebook” a fair and easy third pick for a Valentines Day movie. I don’t care about the holiday, but I think if you really care about your girl and she WANTS to watch this, I think you have no choice but to sit with her and watch. Not to say it will be terrible, for it has been raved about to this day.

CARL DANIEL @carldaniel_

Friends With Benefits
Why Carl Chose this:
I won’t lie, I only watched FWB because it stars the world’s most beautiful woman (clearly… no debating). I was expecting the movie to be average at best but FWB was actually one of my favourite movies of 2011. Great acting, excellent writing and Mila Kunis are something that all movies should have and luckily Friends With Benefits has all three.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn
Why Carl Chose This:
Valentine’s Day is well known for being “guaranteed sex night” so it’s understandable why you may not want to spend a good portion of it watching a movie about the worst pregnancy ever. But beneath the blood drinking and homemade caesareans lies a powerful tale about young love, talking werewolves and anorexia. Chicks will dig it!

Disney’s Cinderella
Why Carl Chose This:
Everyone loves a happy ending (especially if you frequent at a Thai massage parlour) and there’s no ending happier than that of Cinderella’s. It also subconsciously teaches women that without a man they are merely peasants, which is a great way to earn some late night gratitude.
