The actor was last known as Uncle Ben in the “Spider-Man” franchise, though in his career Cliff Robertson played John F. Kennedy in “PT-109″ and in “Charly”, where he won the Academy Award in 1968 for his performance in playing a mentally disabled man who undergoes medical treatment that makes him a genius until he regresses to his former state. Unfortunately 10th September he passed away, aged 88. His secretary of 53 years, Evelyn Christel, said he died at Stony Brook University Medical Center on Long Island of natural causes a day after his 88th birthday, according to The Associated Press…
A popular actor through the mid-50′s onwards, Cliff Robertson was also a writer and directed three movies, that being apart of “Outlaws” TV series and “J.W. Coop”.
Written in a statement by his daughter Stephanie Saunders, she wrote: “My father was a loving father, devoted friend, dedicated professional and honorable man. He stood by his family, friends, and colleagues through good times and bad. He made a difference in all our lives and made our world a better place. We will all miss him terribly.”
We at Epic Network send our condolences to the family and friends of Cliff Robertson. The man to really first say the popular quote “With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility” on the big screen will be missed by many.
