I’ve heard multiple stories of what Warner Brothers plan to do with the next Superman film. After the success of The Dark Knight I hear they want to make the next Superman a more darker experience. I am completely in favor of this direction, as the life of a super hero isn’t all sparkly teeth and blue tights. Well now there is some hope that the next Superman film will be more realistic, as the co-writer of The Dark Knight is penning the film. I am not the biggest Superman fan, as I feel he is far too perfect as a super hero. So maybe David Goyer’s ability to add a dose of reality to a story may get me some reason to get into the next Superman movie effort.

Latino Review has broken the news that David Goyer will write the new Superman movie, to be titled The Man of Steel.

The site’s scooper said that Goyer “had an idea that actually takes the movies back to the John Byrne incarnation. Modern. Believable. FUN!”

The site adds that Brandon Routh will not star in the film and Bryan Singer is not expected to direct.

About the story, the scooper adds: “I can tell you that Goyer’s story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology.”
