It seems like both Drake and Nicki Minaj are a little hesitant to get both feet through the door. Both Drake and Nicki have expressed that they wish to take their time on their projects. It make me wonder if they are a little scared of flopping on their album sales. I appreciate that they want to take their time and create the best possible album, but they don’t want to wait too long or they may loose interest. Just look what happened to Papoose years ago, he had a strong buzz. Then the failure to produce an album made him loose interest, to the point he is hardly relevant.

Nicki Minaj told MTV:

“With the album, I think it’s more important that people get accustomed to seeing a female rapper again. Before I drop an album, people need to come out and see. People don’t even know what a female rapper does. We’re so not used to seeing it. It’s nonexistent in categories. We don’t get nominated. I need to work [the people] up to accepting a female rapper again and accepting my style and all of that — then the album will come. Honestly, I’d love to put an album out this year, but I don’t believe in rushing things either. We’ll see.”
