For a man who is very secretive and hush about his projects (to which we cannot argue for he seems to be amazing at making movies), director of the Batman franchise Christopher Nolan opened up a little about the third installment of the movie, revealing the title and confirming a common rumour going around…

Speaking with Hero Complex in a short interview, Christopher Nolan revealed that the title of the next Batman movie will be ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, giving that feel where Gotham will be turning to Batman to be their savior in dark times happening. Nolan also confirmed that The Riddler, who has been the likely favourite for other media reports to be the next villain, is in fact NOT the next villain. With Tom Hardy being appointed with a role we can expect a more darker bad guy than someone who runs about saying “riddle me this, riddle me that”.

Quoted to have said: “We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones

“Our ambition for the third movie is to complete a story that has begun,” he said, “This is not starting over. This not rebooting. We’re finishing something and keeping a consistency with what’s come before has real value.”

Also, Nolan went on to mention that he will not be jumping on the 3D bandwagon, but will be looking more into advancing the technology use within IMAX, which is great for the sheer fact that 3D is annoying, and IMAX is not.

So with that little bit of news making us go crazy – who would you say is the villain? Could it really be Sergeant Max Cort as suggested in our last article for Tom Hardy? Personally I would still like to see Black Mask make a stance with his rivalry with Bruce Wayne fierce, and he appearing more scary and intense than originally thought. Though The Dark Knight and Begins has followed the Frank Miller “Batman: Year One” and “Prey” is practically the sequel, it looks likely Max Cort/the corrupt cop is the chosen badass.

Though let us know what you think of this with the comments below – Who would you like to see? Glad its not 3D or no? Title stands out for you?

I’m glad Riddler aint in it.

Can’t wait to see the film.

  • JOEKILLA

Expect this to flop, what made Dark Knight the monster hit was not this

Nolan guy’s direction or whatever, that movie was all about THE JOKER

Health became legendary from the grave, nobody gave a damn about any other

character because The Joker out performed them all.

If somebody is not going to step up to pull that off again, EXPECT A FLOP.

  • JOEKILLA

    Heath*

True the fact that Heath went through extreme lengths to perform how he did as The Joker to make that movie amazing. but dead or alive that performance cannot be undermined.

Had he been alive would the movie have done as well garnering that much money? Who knows, maybe people could see the fact that the Joker-Batman rivalry is so legendary that having to see the Joker in Batman is a necessity. Or maybe to see the comparison between Jack Nicholson and Heath…

Either way, Batman 3 will NOT flop, it can’t flop its got such a heavy status right now its impossible for people to go see it once and then think “shit”. Majority will say its not Dark Knight status, but in the right hands Batman 3 can deal some damage in the box office numbers, and it will considering especially the guy made Inception also, he’s practically dragging those people fans of that movie and oblivious to Batman and comics in general, same thing when people watched Prestige and were then dragged to see batman begins. Its all team effort in the end.
